Our curation of handwoven Banarasi silk saris showcases a weaving tradition enriched by centuries of culture. The motifs speak of Mughal and Persian influences in the form of ornate paisleys, twirling leaves, intricate floral buttis, and calligraphic elements. Oscillating between saturated jewel tones and subtle pastels, the silk saris are embellished with pure gold and silver zari, which give them their special luster. Banaras’ weavers are famed for their textural innovations, and this collection also features their most celebrated creations – delicate bafta brocades, kimkhabs dense with zari work, tanchois patterned with satin thread, and exquisitely light abrawans.
