Vinoth & Shabna’s Inaiyerpu Vizha
Shabna and Vinoth’s story began on Bumble, where a shared love for photography and Ilayaraja’s timeless melodies sparked a connection. While Shabna didn’t believe in the idea of ‘the one,’ she found in Vinoth someone who cherished the little things, who could commit and love passionately; qualities that made choosing each other every day feel natural.
One moment that Shabna holds close to her heart unfolded during a misunderstanding. She was in Vellore, he was in Chennai, and over text, wires got crossed; she believed he was ending things, and he thought she wanted out. Visibly distressed, Shabna’s father noticed her anguish. When she told him what had happened, his response was simple yet profound: “The one who really wants to stay with you will come to you.” Moments later, Vinoth showed up at her doorstep, having ridden all the way to Vellore on his two wheeler. Seeing him there, Shabna knew in that instant what he meant to her.
Their wedding, Inaiyerpu Vizha (Inai meaning “equal,” Yerpu meaning “acceptance,” and Vizha meaning “celebration”), reflected their shared values. Held on the open lawn of Hibis Sparsa as the morning sun rose behind the mountains, it was an intimate, priest free ceremony with no raised stage or rituals that didn’t resonate with them. Instead, petals formed a natural boundary under a tree, allowing guests to gather freely.
Shabna wore a simple yet stunning orange-pink double shaded handloom silk saree with rain drop motifs, for her muhurtham, a graceful nod to the Tamil bridal look she had envisioned: graceful, traditional and vintage. They exchanged vows, rings, metti, and a thali chain while standing on rose petals, surrounded by white tuberoses and hanging roses.
A special highlight was their postbox corner, where guests dropped heartfelt letters, now cherished keepsakes from a day built on authenticity.
Their wedding was more than a celebration: it was a quiet revolution, rooted in love, equality, and the courage to redefine tradition.
Glad to be a part of the most memorable day in your life.
