On the 30th of September 2024, RmKV celebrated a momentous occasion with the launch of ‘Weaves & Wonders,’ our festive collection launch held at Fika, Adyar. More than just an unveiling of our latest festive sarees, the event was a tribute to our brand's 100th year celebration, marking a century of heritage, trust, and innovation.
The event was graced by several notable celebrities from the industry, including Saindhavi, Uma Padmanabhan, Priya Manikandan, Priyadharshani, and Srivardani Thaman, along with many key influencers who experienced our exclusive collection of unique silk sarees. A total of 11 new, innovative sarees were showcased, each one a reflection of RmKV’s craftsmanship and tradition.
The decor of the location was thoughtfully designed to reflect the story behind each saree. The Naturals range was beautifully showcased with natural, fresh flowers, creating a serene and organic atmosphere. The 99 Flowers saree, which sparked visitors' curiosity about the names of the 99 flowers, inspired us to include cutouts of each flower, complete with their names. This added an interactive and educational element to the display. For the Lino range, the lightness of the sarees was artistically highlighted, with a visual presentation that emphasised the airy, net-like effect of the Lino Lite sarees. Each display was curated to bring out the unique essence of the collections, creating an experience that was both captivating and elegant.
Our dedicated directors and staff enthusiastically shared the stories behind each saree, engaging visitors with insights into our brand's legacy and artistry. In addition, visitors had the opportunity to experience the process of natural dyeing firsthand at a dedicated counter, highlighting the use of natural ingredients in our sarees.
A media meet was also held, attended by prominent members of the mainline media, who covered the event extensively. During the session, the media had the opportunity to engage with the directors, discussing the inspiration behind each saree and RmKV’s remarkable 100-year journey. This interactive exchange allowed for an in-depth understanding of the brand’s thoughtful creativity behind every piece in the collection.
The star of the event was our Four Thousand Unique Natural Colour Silk Saree—a handwoven silk saree with over 4000 unique natural hues, extracted from ingredients like Indian madder, myrobalan, lac, turmeric and many more, most of which have never graced silk before. The collection showcased our Naturals Range, featuring silk sarees dyed with natural colours, the Lino Range, consisting of 40% lightweight silk sarees crafted using RmKV’s patented Leno technique, and several other innovative designs.
