With their unique blurred lines and high-contrast palettes, handwoven ikat silk saris are unmistakable. The yarns for ikat sarees are first resist dyed and then deftly woven on the loom. Single ikat saris use resist-dyed threads either or the warp or the weft, while double ikat saris like the Pochampally and Puttapaka saris have weft and warp threads that are dyed and then skillfully woven together. 

Ikat is indigenous to India’s eastern coast, particularly Orissa, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Each region has evolved a signature, from Orissa’s tribal and natural motifs to Telangana’s intricate craftsmanship, and our collection of ikat silk saris has the finest examples of them all.
