A tribute to the rich legacy of South Indian handlooms, this traditional checked silk saree conceptualised, designed and handwoven by RmKV master weavers, is a celebration of colour, craftsmanship, and cultural symbolism. The body features multicoloured checks in crimson, orange, and viridian, meticulously arranged to alternate both warp and weft wise. Each crimson thread is flanked with fine golden zari, subtly illuminating the grid and lending a refined definition to the pattern.
At the heart of every crimson intersection, zari woven star flower buttas bloom like scattered auspicious blossoms. A slender zari striped selvage border offers a graceful frame. The contrasting viridian pallu is a gallery of time honoured motifs. Along the top and bottom, thilagam, rudraksham (sacred bead), and thuthiripoo (stylised flower) designs pay homage to classical South Indian aesthetics. At the centre, a bold “comb tooth” motif in rich crimson silk introduce rhythm and architectural structure, bringing together tradition and symmetry in a striking finale.
