This masterpiece was conceptualised, designed and handwoven by RmKV master weavers.
The saree’s pallu and border gleam with the brilliance of pure golden zari. The bold crimson border features the traditional Sayagata pattern, an unbroken, interlocking ‘key fret’ design interwoven with Rindō (gentian flowers, symbolising justice and victory) and Sasa (bamboo leaves, representing resilience and purity).
Above this, a shimmering powder blue band is adorned with Kumo (cloud) and Tatewaku (vertical undulating waves) motifs; timeless elements in Japanese design that evoke tranquillity, renewal, and the graceful flow of life. Scattered across the body, delicate Hanabishi buttas, diamond-shaped stylised flowers bloom in lime yellow, embodying prosperity and celebration while bridging cultural traditions.
The pallu enchants with a vivid crimson centre, overlaid with green silk using the traditional Korvai technique. At its heart, prominent Hanabishi blossoms form a radiant medallion, encircled by Uroko (scale-shaped) motifs, ancient symbols of protection and progress. At each corner of this green panel, Hollyhock flowers, emblems of nobility and good fortune, are intricately woven in zari. Surrounding this central motif, the crimson expanse is richly detailed with Kiri Kamon (stylised paulownia crests and the national emblem of Japan), entwined with flowing Karakusa vines, symbols of longevity and vitality.
Every element of this saree is thoughtfully chosen for its cultural resonance and woven with precision in golden zari, making it a luminous fusion of Indian craftsmanship and Japanese symbolism. A true heirloom piece that echoes stories across cultures and time.
