This handwoven Kanchipuram naturally dyed silk saree brings together an array of traditional weaving techniques to celebrate the bride’s big day.
The body is filled with Mughal-inspired motifs with gold zari highlights. The peach tone has been naturally derived from jackfruit wood pulp and Indian madder, while the white colour comes from fenugreek seeds. The deep crimson of the border is the result of Indian madder and lac, and is the perfect canvas for the motifs in pure gold zari. A beautiful Persian-style flowering creeper grows on the border, surrounded by miniature geometric patterns and broken line stripes. These motifs reach their high point on the pallu, where they frame a broad panel of diagonal stripes. Dainty manga (mango) motifs on the rim of the pallu add a final flourish to this rich design.
